His name is Curry. Seth Curry. He may have been a lightly recruited shooting guard with NBA bloodlines, but between the emergence of older brother Stephen Curry last year and averaging 20.2 points as a freshman, Seth Curry sees opportunities. Specifically being able to transfer out of the Big South conference and being a Flame at Liberty.
He's not looking to go to a Division II school or something like that. No, he knows his name now has some cache. He's shown that he has some game. So the younger Curry is taking it somewhere else.
"This is a difficult decision that I have reached after close consultation with my family and others close to me," he said in a statement released through the school. He said the decision "is based on my desire to develop as an athlete to the fullest of my potential and take advantage of new opportunities that may be available to me in a higher rated conference."It is not the school, it is where they play. A one-bid joint with limited exposure and competition. Unlike his brother who only started putting his skills on the big stage late as a sophomore, Seth has been doing it right away as a freshman. That gives him the opportunity to go to plenty of other places.

It's sad really. I am a Liberty student and Seth Curry was a king here this year. It just seems unfair to Coach McKay who was there to give him a scholarship and build a program around him when no one else would take a shot. Now that's he got some attention the big schools come running and he leaves. He's a great player and he's been really fun to watch.
Another thing is that he knew the Big South was weak before he got here. I mean, we get maybe 1 televised game a year on a major network which is our championship game that gets show on ESPN 2. I understand wanting to go further in your career and everything, but his brother is tearing it up in a mid-major conference and is a possible lottery pick when he decides to go pro.
Good luck Seth, you'll be missed at LU!
