A No. 8 versus No. 9 team is generally a toss-up. When you toss in a relative home court advantage, though, of Ohio State playing in Dayton, Ohio against Siena a win by the Saints becomes a bit more of an upset. Siena made it through two overtimes to knock off the Buckeyes in a hostile location.Ronald Moore twice hit huge threes in the overtimes. Once to extend the game to a second overtime and the next to give Siena the lead with 3.9 seconds left in the second overtime. That proved to be the game winner.
The Saints were down by 11 with 15 minutes left in regulation before slowly coming back on the Buckeyes. Siena shot only 33% and had more turnovers than Ohio State. What Siena did do right was just get after the ball. Siena had a 21-to-6 offensive rebounding advantage. The extra chances for Siena made the difference.
The game topped off what was a fairly exciting second day of action. While there were not many huge upsets, there were plenty of close games and scares for top teams. That suggests that starting in the second round, there will be a lot more upsets.

They may not have played the best game ever but they came through in the clutch and that's all that matters at the end of the day! Congratulations to Siena!

It continues to amaze me that coaches don't foul when up 3. Ohio State lost a game they should have won because of a horrible coaching decision. I see this over and over.
