The Volunteers bandwagon will be full for at least one day. Teams from Happy Valley, PA to Moraga, CA will be pulling for Tennessee. They will play Mississippi State for the SEC Tournament final. A Tennessee win, saves one last bubble spot for the teams that will be just happy to be there.Tennessee was highly efficient on offense the entire game. They hit shots outside and the inside game opened up for them. Auburn just could not stop Tyler Smith and Wayne Chism. The Vols performed like the team many expected in the preseason. They just overwhelmed Auburn.
The Auburn Tigers will be part of the mass rooting for Tennessee on Sunday. Auburn's late season run and their performance in the SEC Tournament brought Auburn into the bubble discussion. Admittedly, they are out on the fringe, but they got into the conversation. Something no one expected as late as the beginning of February.
Auburn coach Jeff Lebo moved himself from the coaching hot seat with the season by the Tigers. They improved over the course of the season and actually created some real excitement for basketball in Auburn.
