Baylor made quite a run in Oklahoma City this week, but in the end they came up a game short. After beating Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas to reach the Big 12 title game, the Bears saw their tournament hopes end on Saturday with a loss to Missouri.
Because of their disappointing 5-11 regular season conference record, Baylor is extremely unlikely to hear their name called on Sunday evening. That means there's one more at-large spot than there would've been if they had won, which is very good news for the Creightons and Marylands of the world.
It was closer than the final score indicated, but Mizzou enjoyed a comfortable to close out the game after a beginning the second half with a 9-2 run. As usual, forward DeMarre Carroll led the way for the Tigers with 20 points (7-of-13 shooting from the field) and nine rebounds. As a team, the Tigers were also very efficient from three, converting 8 of 17 (47 percent).
The main reason for the end of Baylor's run was cold shooting from deep. The Bears were just 6 of 24 from beyond the arc, and LaceDarius Dunn missed seven of his nine attemps. Dunn struggled from two also, as after an impressive three-game run he was just 3 of 17 from the floor.
Mizzou's title caps an impressive Big 12 year for them, finishing 15-4 in conference games. At 27-6 overall, they'll likely be a No. 3 seed next week.

No reason Mizzou should not be a #2 seed. 28-6, Top 10 or better RPI, win Conf Tourney, win all home games, beat both OU and Kansas and 1 win away from tieing in regular season. Only bad loss was at Nebraska. As in football and baseball, they get little respect as it would not be surprising to see them as a #4 when brackets are announced tomorrow.
